Jodie’s Wedding Day

action shot

A December winter Wedding and my last one of 2016 ,arriving at the beautiful manor house Monk Fryston Hall there was some remains of frost on the ground setting the scene for Jodie’s Big day ,

Vintage was definitely the style after discussing it with Jodie at her trial I like to think I played a part in advising her with the choice of headdress and Veil to complement the wedding dress.

I had  quite a few Bridesmaids hair to do and a tight time scale so I called upon a good friend of mine to help out Sue. she has on numerous times been there to lend a helping hand she is also a very good make up artist ,which also handy for larger bookings between us we are able to cover a large wedding without the stress of a Bride worrying to find extra service to cover it .

well busy was the word of the day and it was lovely to work around a photographer http://www.sarahbrabbin.co.uk/with a good sense of humour and hands on to help our Bride to .

once again Jodie like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Gel Bridal Style

Great day had by all at Hatfield Hall, the weather was kind and we managed to deliver some excellent Images for the new Brochure courtesy of Angie Hall Owner of  Ormond Images , Michelle  Hobkirk  owner of miss to mrs on face book is the official supplier for Hatfield and had supplied every single thing to compliment the  shoot including all headdresses, veils, stunning Dresses and every Accessories ,plus the Cars they really are the best in wedding Planning .

The themes we all came up with one being  based on Marie Antoinette which suited our blonde hair model Kelsey the pale pink Princess dress was just the ticket and adding the large feathers to Kelsey ‘s hair and getting her to hold one looked amazing .

Sharon from Hatfield hall who is the wedding co ordinater for the venue had discussed with Michelle, Angie and myself   on the second theme to be more of a Vintage  theme so we went with  Rockabilly, this style was so Sarah our second Model, Angie came up with the idea of Sarah growling at the Camera which was not only awesome and fun  to watch but just as good on image .

we were also very lucky to have a special  prop from one of the golfers  a vintage Bike which was park outside, Angie the Photographer spotted it and asked if Sarah our model could pose on it and wow another image was created .the day was getting better and better we all worked hard and the images Angie produce are as fantastic as the day was.

hope you like them  as much as I liked working on this shoot

When  working on these model’s hair and make up  I realise I’m a lucky Lady to be able to have a hobby which happens to be the Job I love

Arriving on a glorious sunny but windy January morning at the Bridge Inn Wetherby, I was booked for the Brides hair and make up, along with Bridesmaid hair and a very good MUA friend of mine Sue who joined us a little later helped with Bridesmaids make up.
As I was walking into the dinning area of the Hotel I found my wedding party chilling out and having breakfast so laid  back where they that I ended up joining them for a coffee.

Once we got started with the preparation on hair and make up on Louise  and her wedding party  her photographer turned up Martin Hillary ,

I have worked with Martin numerous times and it was great to see a  familiar face, knowing how each other works makes our job so much easier so the mood was jolly and full  of humour .

Louise’s hair and make up was a timeless vintage soft loose updo with natural make up. the bridesmaids were also full updo and make up was day wear .
The full wedding party outfits were beautiful soft neutral colours stunning for a January Wedding .

On a very Wet Sunday Morning in October 2015 I put a Photoshoot together at the Gel Bridal Studio with a little help from my friends, working along side Emma Greenwood Photography. We wanted to shoot using only day light ,no extra lighting or fancy photo shop we wanted to show our talent, using only the camera and my make up kit and no added touches to the images, we had a lot of fun and made the shoot our own.

Models for the day were Sarah Harper and Kelsey Jo Longstaff. The girls were shown images of the type of look we were going for on a mood board and they were brilliant in replicating the images and bringing them to life on this shoot.

Emma Greenwood our Photographer for the day was excellent at following my vision and adding her input which is why I would not hesitate to work along side her again. I Feel very privileged to have friends who loved to spend a few hours putting a lot of effort into a wonderful day of shooting. I would also like to thank my Close friend Urban Bride for the loan of her stunning Headdress Collection which are all hand made,

Once again I love the versatile of my Job and how creative and exciting  these Shoots can be

I hope you enjoy looking at these Images as much as we all enjoyed making them

Retro Dance floor Scene with the Married Couple

Retro Dance floor Scene with the Married Couple

Lyndsay and Marcus were Married on Saturday 19th September 2015 at Dimple well lodge
Lyndsay was a quirky fun and loveable Bride and so Laid back which reflects so well in the photographs taken by Andrew Wade Photography .
I loved the morning with Lyndsay and her family who were such a great bunch. We had constant laughter all through out the preparation of the bridal party’s hair. We had the Bride’s hair which was a twist up do with hair extensions to add fullness to her vintage style, we also had very cute Flower girls where we went for smooth buns with a bow using the girls own hair.
Retro was definitely the theme with some wonderful images with props sums up how much the couple wanted their quest to enjoy their Big day.
I first met Lyndsay at Gel Bridal Studio where she had her free consultation and we then discussed .in full detail her look and style she wanted to create for her wedding. I also gave Lyndsay advice on how to treat her hair and scalp using products and natural oils to give shine and better texture to her hair.
We then booked her trial a few months after so I could see how well my advice and products were doing.
I am glad to say she did everything I ask of her.

Wishing you all the very best Lyndsay & Marcus

IMr & Mrs Edwards

Christine got Married at Leeds Town Hall on Wednesday 29th July 2015.
The Big Day started of at the Residence 6 Hotel, the Hotel used to be The Old Post Office and has lots of history in The Heart of Leeds City Centre, the hotel has 6 Luxury Apartments one of which Christine had booked for her wedding Morning.
The apartment was very spacious so preparing for the bridal party, mother of the Bride and two Bridesmaids and of course my lovely Bride, was easy having so much room to work.
We were later on joined by the very Talented Mathew Kitchen Photography

Matthew took loads of photo’s catching every moment of the Brides Big Day .

Christine’s look for her wedding was a Boho Chic knee length lace Dress with a lace veil placed at an angle so the hair was dressed to one side. Her hairstyle had braids galore which we both adored and got very excited at the trial and even more so to replicate it on the actual day we were buzzing.
First big Braid in her hair was the twisted Braid added with a French braid, fish, and last the Dutch Braid, the hair was so Christine and her wedding outfit suited her character. The result was fabulous and the bride was over the moon.

Rockabilly Shoot

An early morning start at the gel bridal studio, transforming models for the Rockabilly Shoot. Hairstylist Gel Bridal Style (Geraldine Dooler) and MUA Simona Baglioni. Model’s for the day were alternative models, Ava Elphin and Leone P -Model. I have had the pleasure in working along side these two lovely Ladies and they are so professional and fun to be with and love the camera, both have idea’s they will share with the I have worked with Photographer and John Gardener before which helped to achieve a great result.

The wardrobe was kindly loaned by the wonderful Designer Vivien of Holloway and props for the Shoot were Kindly loaned by close freinds Julie and Hubby Carl Mills, who live at the location. Its not what you know but who!!!

We were all excited when we saw the Blue Tractor and it set the scene perfectly and John Gardener took brilliant photographs with the heath hall in the back ground .

My friend Jane from Candy treats baked cup cakes and supplied some hand full of lollipops some candy all washed down by traditional glass of Coca Cola bottle drinks… yum yum.

The typical British weather was unpredictable brilliant sun shine and then the heaven’s opened which meant we had to abandon the shoot and take cover …

However the sun soon reappeared and we completed the fantastic shoot. I am very grateful for everyone’s hard work and input .John Gardener knows how to get the best out of Model’s and did a fantastic job editing and creating great photography.

Charity Wedding Fayre

Charity Wedding Fayre

Posted by / December 1, 2013 / Categories: Events / 0 Comments

On November 28th 2013 I organised a Charity Wedding Fayre in Aid of Cancer Research.

In March 2012 my mother was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and was told there would be no cure.
Radiotherapy and chemotherapy would be my mothers ongoing treatment. We felt there was nothing we could do ,so my sisters and I along with our cousins and Aunt attended Chelmsford Race for Life in July 2013 which left us all feeling emotional ,uplifting and wanting to do more to raise money for the Charity.

I then had an Idea to set up a Charity Wedding fayre and approached The Engine Shed in Wetherby to see if they would be interested in letting me use their quirky and stunning Venue.

After a lot of hard work and support from all involved, the evening was a success and we managed to raise a grand total of £1,500..this was transferred to the just giving page I set up on behalf of my Mother who Sadly lost her fight from Secondary Cancer on Easter Sunday 2014…

Love you Mum xxx
